His son-in-law Adrien Dubouché joined the firm and gave it its full name, and by the late nineteenth century the house was being poured at the Russian imperial court and the court of Napoleon III while shipping some of the first cognac to reach America and the Far East.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe house's signature is the long-cut distillation method Alexandre Bisquit devised: the wine is distilled on its lees and the heart of the run is extended, with the tails cut made later than at other houses once the distiller judges the spirit by nose and palate. The result is a richer, fruitier eau-de-vie with notes of pear, grape, rose and lychee that carries through long oak aging.
