Jeb Dunnuck gave it 93 points for aromas of dark berries, graphite, leather and crushed stone, a medium to full-bodied frame with elegant structure and polished tannins, and a drinking window of seven to nine years; Decanter went to 94 points, praising blue fruit, blackberry preserve, toasty oak spice and kirsch over firm, saline-tinged tannins and a dark chocolate finish.
