The whiskey was distilled in Bardstown at Barton 1792 from the classic high-rye mash bill of 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley, aged 13 years in new charred oak, and bottled unfiltered at full cask strength — hazmat territory, with single barrels ranging from the mid-130s to over 140 proof. Expect maple, caramel, vanilla, crisp apple, and antique oak on the nose, opening into burnt brown sugar, barrel-aged honey, orange zest, cream, and peppery baking spice, finishing long on cinnamon, cardamom, cedar, and tea leaves.
