This Cellarmaster Select Pinot Noir is a California bottling aged in bourbon barrels, which adds a layer of spice to the classic red-fruit profile of the grape. Bottled at 15.5% alcohol, it is a fuller, riper style than most Pinot Noir. Expect bright red fruit aromas typical of the variety, blended with spiced notes picked up from the bourbon barrels, giving the wine a warm, rounded feel. It is a good bottle for people who enjoy barrel-forward reds and cocktails with whiskey. At the table it works with barbecue pork, smoked sausage, grilled burgers, and sharp cheddar. It also makes an easy gift for a bourbon fan who wants to try a bottle of wine. Serve it lightly cool so the spice stays balanced against the fruit. 750ml bottle.
