It is built on the same award-winning whiskey as Michter's US*1 Original Sour Mash, the first American whiskey named Whisky of the Year by The Whisky Exchange in 2019, whose grain selection sits between a bourbon and a rye and cannot legally be called either. The whiskey is distilled in Kentucky to Master Distiller Dan McKee's specifications using Michter's classic sour mash method, entered into toasted and fire-charred new American white oak barrels at a low 103 proof, and matured until Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson and the tasting panel judge it ready. Each batch is left uncut, mellowed through Michter's signature filtration, and bottled at its own barrel strength; the 2026 release ranged from 110.4 to 112.6 proof, and this bottle is batch 26C0896 at 55.2% ABV (110.4 proof) in 750ml. Michter's describes a sweet, aromatic entry that moves from subtle to intense cherries, plums and powdered cocoa, with balanced spice against a dessert-like honey character, and McKee sums it up as rich with toffee and stone fruit. Pour it neat or with a drop of water to open it up.

Buy Michter's US*1 Barrel Strength Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey 2026 Limited Release online with fast shipping right to your door.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0057/8089/7892/files/michters-us-1-barrel-strength-sour-mash-whiskey-2026.jpg?v=1794007285
