Bottled at 15.0% alcohol, this is a big, ripe, extroverted style. Wine Spectator, which gave it 91 points, found singed anise and dried fruitcake notes around a core of boysenberry and mulberry, with a brambly finish. Expect a dense, flattering palate with dark berry fruit, warm baking spice and supple tannins rather than a lean, high-toned profile. It drinks well now and should hold for several more years.
