The base alcohol is steeped with whole mastic resin for 25 days, then blended with a water and sugar mixture to 26% ABV and bottled unfined and unfiltered, so the liqueur is milky and cloudy with small pieces of mastic suspended in the bottle and a medium-to-full body, with notably less sugar than many mastiha liqueurs. The producer describes an intense mastic flavor and aroma and recommends it neat or on the rocks as an aperitif, as a cocktail ingredient, or in sweet and savory cooking. The US importer notes this marks the first time Pixari has been brought to the United States.
