The result pours a deep crimson, close to cherry, and both Christopher Null at Drinkhacker and Kara Newman at Wine Enthusiast praised it independently — Null calling it a sweet-and-sour, cranberry-sauce-like sloe gin with mint, orange peel, and rhubarb notes (giving it an A), and Newman describing a bold cherry pie filling aroma with sweet-tart cherry and Christmas baking spice reminiscent of mulled wine. It also picked up a Silver Medal at the Bartender Spirits Awards.
