Bottled at 14.5% alcohol, the wine shows dried plum, cranberry and earthy notes on the nose. The palate is round and soft, with lush tannins and flavors of strawberry-rhubarb pie, muddled cherries and petrichor, the scent of rain on dry earth. Monterey Pinot Noir often has ripe red fruit with a subtle earthiness, and this bottling reflects that, with a medium-bodied frame and a smooth, long finish. The wine is easy to pair with roasted poultry, creamy pasta, grilled salmon and pork tenderloin, and it also works with mushroom dishes and soft cheeses.
