Bottled at 14.0% alcohol, the wine shows a medium dark ruby color and aromas of ripe dark cherry and plum, along with lavender, dark earth, roses and toasted nuts. The palate is medium to full in body, with dense, juicy cherry and pomegranate flavors, woodsy, anise-tinged undertones, excellent balance, and a long, firm finish. That structure gives it enough backbone for richer dishes, such as roast duck, grilled lamb chops, pork loin with herbs or a mushroom and Gruyere tart.
