The wine is made from hand-harvested, hand-sorted fruit, fermented in small lots with extended maceration, aged roughly 20 months in predominantly new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered at about 14.8% ABV. The 2019 vintage, one of Napa's finest of the decade, gives a deep, saturated purple wine with layers of cassis, black cherry, violets, graphite and dark chocolate, plush yet structured tannins and a long, mineral-tinged finish that will reward a decade or more in the cellar.
