5 Sophisticated Drinks in Under 5 minutes

It’s never been a better time to hone your mixology skills, and we’ve rounded-up several sophisticated adult drinks that come together in five minutes flat.

  • Gin Martini
  • The martini oozes sophistication and if you want to keep with the classic recipe, go forgin (but vodka works well, too).

Pour three ounces gin and ½ ouncedry vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir and strain into a martini glass and garnish with olives or a lemon twist.

  • Negroni

  • A classic Italian aperitif, the Negroni is a delicious way to cleanse the palate before a meal.

Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice, and add one ounceCampari Milano (made with a touch of mint and elderflower syrup), one ouncesweet vermouth, and one ounce ofgin. Stir to combine and garnish with an orange twist.

  • Black Russian
  • The next time you need an afternoon pick-me-up, look no further thanvodka and kahlua; the only ingredients you need to make the ever-refreshing Black Russian. Add 2.5 ounces of vodka and one ounce of kahlua (or othercoffee liqueur) to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir and strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.

  • Pomegranate Prosecco
  • Bright pink and bubbly, the Pomegranate Prosecco drink is perfect for a wedding or bridal shower toast, or a romantic date night at home.

Place one sugar cube in a champagne flute, with two tablespoons of pomegranate liqueur. Fill withProsecco and drop in a few pomegranate seeds to garnish (for a small gathering, you’ll need about one cup of pomegranate liqueur and two bottles of Prosecco).

  • Orange-Cherry Tequila Cocktail

  • The layers of cherry syrup and orange juice create a colorful work-of-art in a glass. Pour ¾ ounce of maraschino cherry syrup (strained from a jar of maraschino cherries) in a tall glass filled ¾ with ice. Slowly pour in ½ ounce of crème de cassis, followed by three ounces of orange juice. Finish with two ounces ofreposado tequila and garnish with a cherry and orange twist.
