5 Sophisticated Drinks in Under 5 minutes
It’s never been a better time to hone your mixology skills, and we’ve rounded-up several sophisticated adult drinks that come together in five minutes flat.
The martini oozes sophistication and if you want to keep with the classic recipe, go for gin (but vodka works well, too).
Pour three ounces gin and ½ ounce dry vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir and strain into a martini glass and garnish with olives or a lemon twist.
A classic Italian aperitif, the Negroni is a delicious way to cleanse the palate before a meal.
Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice, and add one ounce Campari Milano (made with a touch of mint and elderflower syrup), one ounce sweet vermouth, and one ounce of gin. Stir to combine and garnish with an orange twist.
The next time you need an afternoon pick-me-up, look no further than vodka and kahlua; the only ingredients you need to make the ever-refreshing Black Russian. Add 2.5 ounces of vodka and one ounce of kahlua (or other coffee liqueur) to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir and strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
Bright pink and bubbly, the Pomegranate Prosecco drink is perfect for a wedding or bridal shower toast, or a romantic date night at home.
Place one sugar cube in a champagne flute, with two tablespoons of pomegranate liqueur. Fill with Prosecco and drop in a few pomegranate seeds to garnish (for a small gathering, you’ll need about one cup of pomegranate liqueur and two bottles of Prosecco).
The layers of cherry syrup and orange juice create a colorful work-of-art in a glass. Pour ¾ ounce of maraschino cherry syrup (strained from a jar of maraschino cherries) in a tall glass filled ¾ with ice. Slowly pour in ½ ounce of crème de cassis, followed by three ounces of orange juice. Finish with two ounces of reposado tequila and garnish with a cherry and orange twist.
