5 Fun Tequila Drinks to Make for Your Next Party

When life gives you lemons, you grab the tequila and salt!

Tequila has such a dynamic and distinct flavor profile, making it an incredible pairing for acids, herbs, spices, and even florals! Not to mention, there are all kinds of tequila with unique aging processes, origins, and blends.

For that party coming up, you should wow your guests with these super fun tequila cocktails, but don't blame us when things get a little wild!

Mezcal Lagerita

The 3-ingredient Margarita is a classic, but we think it could be enhanced with a little help from some smokey spice and some Mexican lager! This cocktail isn't for the faint of heart…

The Recipe

  • 1.5 oz Mezcal Joven
  • 0.5 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz Mexican lager
  • 1 oz Maple Syrup
  • 2 fresh limes
  • Sliced jalapeños
  •

    Directions

Begin by salting the rim of a chilled marg glass and setting it aside. Then, in a shaker, muddle the jalapeños, adding ice and everything minus beer. Strain into a margarita glass over crushed ice and top with beer. Garnish with jalapeño and lime.

    Paloma De Violetta

The Paloma is a super refreshing and tart tequila drink. It features tequila with some citrus juices and grapefruit soda.

Now, elevating those thirst-quenching flavors with a little summer-like violet floral and snappy ginger is going to showcase this Cabernet tequila even more, additionally adding a gorgeous magenta hue! Think of it as a cross between a Silver Wing and a Mimosa.

    The Recipe

  • 1.5 oz Rosa Tequila
  • 1 oz Crème de Violette
  • 3 oz Grapefruit
  • 0.5 fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Agave Syrup
  • Ginger beer
  •

    Directions

In a shaker, add ice, and all the ingredients. Shake and strain over fresh ice in a Collins glass and top with ginger beer. Garnish with an edible flower.

    Añejold Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is the crux of sipping drinks because it showcases the star spirit. A tequila O.F. creates an opportunity to highlight a snazzy extra-aged Añejo.

    The Recipe

  • 2 oz Extra Añejo Tequila
  • 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • 1 sugar cube/1 oz simple syrup
  • Sliced jalapeño pieces
  •

    Directions

In a mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube and jalapeños, adding in the tequila and bitters. Add some ice and stir three times. Strain over a few cubes of fresh ice in an O.F. glass. Express oils from orange twist around the rim and drop in.

    Tequila Peach Pie

Peach, cinnamon, and tequila are a dynamic trio, and in the wise words of Laurie Halsey Anderson, "Peach pie makes everybody happy". Agreed.

    The Recipe

  • 1 oz peachy Reposado Tequila
  • 1 oz peach schnapps
  • 0.5 oz butterscotch ripple
  • 1 oz cream
  • Cinnamon
  •

    Directions

Rim a chilled Marg glass with cinnamon sugar and set aside. In a shaker with ice, combine all the ingredients and shake. Strain into the glass and garnish with whipped cream and a grilled peach.

    Tequiña Colada

Everyone loves a Piña Colada, but it can be a bit heavy. Tequila pairs great with a lighter coconut water and the acids associated with that island freshness.

    The Recipe

  • 1.5 oz coconut Blanco Tequila
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • Half a fresh lime
  • Young coconut water
  •

    Directions

In a shaker, combine all the ingredients and shake with ice. Serve in a Collins glass over fresh crushed ice and garnish with pineapple chunks and a cute umbrella!
