Connor McGregor's newest business venture Proper No. Twelve Whiskey
From the Octagon to the Distillery, UFC fighter Conor McGregor founds a whiskey company. UFC fighter Conor McGregor is the founder of Proper No. 12 Whiskey.
Irish Proud Whiskey
McGregor has always been very proud of his Irish roots so it is no surprise that he would want his whiskey to have the same Irish pride. In order to do that, McGregor took to Ireland’s oldest whiskey distillery in a quest to find his master distiller which luckily for all the Irish Whiskey lovers out there, he did just that!
Through a lot of trial and error, the team of whiskey afficionados fine-tuned the whiskey to create a blend of sweet Irish grain and single malt Irish whiskey resulting in a smooth and balanced whiskey that has hints of vanilla and a honey-like sweetness combined with hints of toasted wood. The whiskey is aged in Bourbon barrels for four years and is balanced and smooth.
Watch Out Jameson
Proper No. 12 Whiskey broke one billion dollars in sales in the United States giving Jameson a run for it’s money. Although Jameson still holds the title for the most sold Irish whiskey brand in the United States, sales for Jameson Whiskey have definitely slowed down a little within the past year since the introduction of the new Irish Whiskey player in town, McGregor’s’ Proper No. 12 Whiskey.
When McGregor first launched his Whiskey brand, Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, in the United States and Ireland last year, the whiskey sold out in a matter of weeks. Proper No. 12 Whiskey is definitely giving Jameson Whiskey a run for their money.
Whiskey with Purpose
Connor McGregor is definitely laughing all the way to the bank with this one but he also gives back. McGregor’s Proper No. 12 has committed to donating $5 for each case of whiskey sold to local first responder organizations world-wide. The UFC fighters’ company will be donating up to $1 million annually to first responder organizations. So get your Irish Whiskey and do some good at the same time.
