How to make the Beast and Smash

The  Hatozaki Small Batch Whisky – a drink that has been vatted in 100% Malt Whiskies that have been aged in important bourbon casks, imported sherry casks and native mizunara oak barrels. The profiles are rich with sweet cereals and malty dried fruits with a light touch of smoke and honey to finish it off. While most whiskey enthusiast will recommend that you consume this drink straight, we believe that this whiskey will also work well in a few good recipes. So give one of these a try before you write off mixed whiskey drinks for good!


The Beast


Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup of Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey
  • 2 cubes of sugar
    • 4 dashes of Angostura bitters
    • 1 lemon wheel
    • 1 lime wheel
    • 1 orange wheel
    • 1 cocktail cherry
    0.5 teaspoon Grenadine syrup
    • A splash of ginger ale

Directions:

  • Place sugar cubes in the glass
  • Add the citrus wheels, cherry, and grenadine
  • Smash all of the implemented ingredients so you can release the juices and oils
  • Add the Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey and ice cubes
  • Stir
  • Top off the drink with ginger ale or club soda

The Smash


Ingredients:

  • 0.25 cup of Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey
  • 7 mint leaves
    • 0.5 lemon
    • 1 teaspoon of syrup
    • crushed Ice

Directions:

  • Mash the mint leaves, lemon, and teaspoon of syrup together in a 16 oz glass or cocktail mixer
  • Add the Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey
  • Pour mixture into a glass
  • Add ice, stir, then add more ice
  • Top the drink with some mint sprigs

Coke and Nuts


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey
  • 2 cups roasted, unsalted peanuts
    • 1.5 cups sugar
    • 1.25 cups water
    • 1 tsp. orange flower water
    • 1 oz. brandy or vodka 

Directions:

  • Place the roasted, unsalted peanuts in a blender, then blend
  • Place sugar and water in a saucepan
  • Stir until water dissolves
  • Bring water to a boil for two-three minutes
  • Add blended peanuts
  • Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes
  • When the mixture is about to boil again, remove from the heat and cover it
  • Let the mixture sit for a few hours (six is ideal)
  • Strain the mixture and discard the peanuts
  • Add the Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey

Sour


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey
    • 1 oz. of lemon juice
    • 0.5 oz. of simple syrup
    • 1 cocktail cherry 

Directions:

  • Pour the Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey into a glass
  • Add the lemon juice and simple syrup
  • Stir
  • Top the drink with the cherries

The Red Akuma


Ingredients:

  • 0.5 cup of Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey 
  • 1 cup of blood orange juice
    • 2 teaspoons of Agave
    • 1 average sized jalapeno, chopped with stem removed (about 2 teaspoons) 

Directions:

  • Place blood orange juice, agave and Hatozaki Small Batch Whiskey in a cocktail shaker
  • Stir
  • Add jalapeno
  • Place mixture into a new cup
  • Shake mixture three or four times
  • Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice
  • Discard jalapeno
