Don Cenobio Sauza founded the brand in 1873; Tres Generaciones honors him, his son Don Eladio, and his grandson Don Francisco Javier, and Suntory makes it today at La Perseverancia, NOM 1102, in the town of Tequila. The Añejo is 100% blue Weber agave from the Tequila valley, cooked, triple-distilled, aged at least twelve months in toasted American oak barrels, and bottled at 40% ABV in the tall bottle with the three portraits. Expect a nose of cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak with dried fruit, opening into a smooth, rounded, sweet palate of butterscotch, oak, and light baking spice with a warm, moderately long finish.
