Bottled at 86 proof, it pours pale straw and leads with fresh, clean peat smoke, salty seaweed and a sweet honeydew melon note, then a beautifully smooth palate of phenolic citrus, grilled fruit and a hint of green nut, finishing long and smoky with lovely balance. The Whiskey Wash gave it a perfect 10 out of 10. Lighter and more elegant than Lagavulin or Ardbeg but every bit as Islay, it is the smoky malt for drinkers who want a cleaner, brighter kind of peat.
