Nc'nean Single Cask 18-642 was released to celebrate the official US launch of Scotland's only fully organic whisky distillery, founded in 2017 by Annabel Thomas on the remote Morvern peninsula in the West Highlands. It is a single ex-bourbon cask filled in 2018, the distillery's second year of production, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 120.8 proof (60.4% ABV), non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle of 100% recycled glass.
Delightfully creamy, it evokes a classic afternoon tea: clotted cream, apricot jam and candied lemon on the nose, paired with freshly baked cinnamon rolls on a rich, sweet palate, finishing long with vanilla, honey and gentle oak spice. With only a few hundred bottles drawn from one cask, it is a rare collector's piece from one of Scotland's most talked-about new distilleries and a fine gift for a whisky lover who values sustainability.
