Little Book is the annual, one-off blend Beam's eighth-generation master distiller makes to honor his grandfather Booker Noe, bottled uncut and unfiltered like Booker's, with a green hang-tag this year as a nod to the rye; Chapter 8 dropped in May 2024 at 118.2 proof (59.1% ABV), non-chill filtered, with the barrels drawn from four production dates across four warehouses. The 18-year bourbon is the Old Grand-Dad / Basil Hayden recipe — 63% corn, 27% rye, 10% malted barley — and Bourbon Culture, a self-described Little Book skeptic, said the specs read like a dream. Mostly Bourbon found incredible barrel character and decadent rye flavors that don't taste young despite the four-to-seven-year core, with a nose that outshines the palate. Expect rye spice, dill, mint, and black pepper over caramel, toasted oak, and dark fruit from the old bourbon, dense and warm, finishing long.
