Hirsch The Horizon is Hotaling & Co.'s revival of the most legendary name in bourbon collecting — A.H. Hirsch Reserve, the 16-year Michter's stock that sells for thousands — as a blended straight bourbon at 92 proof for forty dollars. Hotaling, the San Francisco house behind Old Potrero and Junipero, bought the Hirsch name and relaunched it in 2020 with The Horizon: two MGP Indiana bourbons — 94% four-year-eleven-month high-rye (75% corn, 21% rye) and 6% six-year-eight-month higher-rye (60% corn, 36% rye) — blended and bottled at 92 proof, with the batch printed on the label.
