Crafted in Kentucky using the traditional sour mash process — where a portion of previously fermented mash is carried into new batches — this whiskey is bottled at 91.2 proof (45.6% ABV) with a rich, rye-forward profile and nuanced maturation. Portions of the mash were finished in toasted (but un-charred) French oak barrels sourced from the Vosges forest, enhancing spice, dried fruit and toasted sugar notes. On the nose expect warm caramel, honeyed brown sugar, baking spice and subtle rye spice. The palate carries creamy toffee, butterscotch, molasses and gentle oak with hints of dried fruit and spice, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
