"Bib and tucker" was 1800s slang for your Sunday best, and the bourbon named for it is dressed the part — an ornate carved-glass bottle that looks like it belongs in a frontier saloon. Inside is a Tennessee-sourced small-batch bourbon, aged a minimum of six years in new American white oak with a light char, made from a 70% corn, 26% rye, 4% malted barley mash bill and bottled at 92 proof. The distillery is undisclosed, though reviewers have long guessed George Dickel, and the whiskey is bottled in Columbia, Tennessee by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, who acquired the brand from 35 Maple Street in 2015. Whiskey Consensus notes it's double-distilled and, per the brand, sourced from a Tennessee distillery. The Barrel Burner found it rye-heavy on the nose with corn, oak, and faint cocoa, then a front end smoother than expected — licorice, earth, and pecans — with hearty oak, rye spice, caramel drizzle, cocoa, and honey behind, finishing on pecan and lingering rye. Gear Diary called it smooth and flavorful with a delicious finish, one of the reviewer's favorites, and noted the bottle doesn't last long. Expect a copper-penny color, a spicy, earthy profile with more rye character than most bourbons, and a mellow, medium-length finish.
