This Cadenhead's 22 Year Old is an independent bottling of Glen Keith, a Speyside distillery built in 1957 beside the River Isla in Keith, mothballed from 1999 to 2013 and rarely seen as a single malt because nearly all of its output goes into Chivas Regal and Passport blends. The "Glen Keith-Glenlivet" styling on the label is the distillery's traditional name. Cadenhead's, Scotland's oldest independent bottler, founded in 1842 and based in Campbeltown, is one of the few places to find it at real age.
Bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and without added color, twenty-two years in cask give Glen Keith's light, fruity Speyside spirit real depth: expect honey, ripe orchard fruit, cereal sweetness and soft, waxy oak. Limited to a single outturn, it is a genuine rarity for collectors of independent bottlings and fans of old-school Speyside malt.
