Casa Dragones Reposado is aged in Mizunara — the rare Japanese oak prized by Suntory and Nikka — the first tequila to use it, launched in 2022 as the house's fourth expression. Casa Dragones was founded in 2009 by Bertha González Nieves, the first woman certified as a Maestra Tequilera, and named for the Dragones cavalry of Mexico's independence; it's made at NOM 1489 in the Tequila Valley from agave grown in volcanic soil, with spring water drawn from underground aquifers for each batch. The Reposado is 100% blue Weber agave, double-distilled through the house's modern, sustainable process, rested in new Mizunara oak casks, and bottled at 40% ABV in a hand-engraved bottle. Tequila Matchmaker found a light, clean nose of vanilla and soft florals, then mango and pitted stone fruit with a Chardonnay-like creaminess — the Mizunara gentle, harmonizing, never dominating, well-rounded and approachable.
