Marques de Casa Noble Anejo Tequila
Marqués de Casa Noble is the house's ultra-añejo — a blend of tequilas aged in new French oak, some for as long as five years, in a decanter meant for the collector's shelf. Casa Noble is triple-distilled and certified organic from a single estate in the Tequila Valley; master tequilero José Pepe Hermosillo's family has grown agave in Jalisco for seven generations, Carlos Santana is a partner, and it's made at NOM 1137, La Cofradía, in the town of Tequila under Constellation Brands. The Marqués is 100% estate-grown, CCOF-certified organic blue Weber agave matured up to fourteen years, slow-cooked in stone ovens, fermented naturally, distilled three times, and aged in new French white oak — the house's Taransaud barrels — for a blend of añejo and extra-añejo terms, bottled at 40% ABV in a crystal decanter with a heavy stopper. Old Town Tequila notes the house is known for its triple-distilled, French-oak-aged single-barrel work, personally selected. Expect the Añejo's dried fruit, butterscotch, and minerality — InsideHook's notes — deepened by the older components into fig, toffee, cedar, dark chocolate, and baking spice, with the French oak's tannin and the house's signature dryness on a long finish. Honest note: a collector's tequila for the Cognac drinker and the gift that needs to look like one — agave purists will find five years of French oak a lot of wood. Neat, in a snifter, slowly. The Marqués.
