Fuenteseca 18 Year was distilled in September 1995 — 75% in copper column stills, 25% in copper alembics — and is among the oldest tequilas ever sold. Enrique Fonseca is a fourth-generation agavero, one of the largest independent growers in Jalisco, and the distiller at La Tequileña, NOM 1146, in the town of Tequila; he began laying down extra añejo before anyone thought tequila could survive it, varying barrel type, altitude, and climate and moving casks between aging rooms, and Fuenteseca — additive-free, estate-bottled — runs 7, 8, 11, 15, 18, and 21 years with the harvest year and distillation method on every label. The 18 Year is 100% highland and valley blue Weber agave from Fonseca's estates, from the 1995 distillation, aged eighteen years in oak across Fonseca's aging rooms, and bottled at around 43% ABV; Old Town Tequila documents the still split. The Bourbon Concierge, on the 18 and 21: among the oldest tequilas commercially available — delicate, intricate, contemplative, aged more like fine brandy, with incense, oxidized fruit, and antique wood unfolding slowly.
