Giffard Piment d'Espelette is a 750ml, 40% ABV chili liqueur from Giffard, the family distillery founded in Angers, France in 1885. It is made with Piment d'Espelette, the prized mild red chili of the French Basque Country, distilled and blended at full cocktail strength.
The nose is frank and herbaceous with fresh chili and freshly cut grass and gentle warmth in the background. The palate has a dry attack of assertive chili, a smooth, warm mid-palate with rising spice, and a gourmet cocoa finish with a caramelized, slightly musky aftertaste. Use it in spicy margaritas, palomas and mezcal cocktails, or with chocolate in dessert drinks.
