The Belize 2006 is molasses rum from Travellers Liquors, the family distillery in Belize City that's the country's only rum maker, distilled on a column still in 2006, fully tropically aged sixteen years in ex-bourbon oak in Belize, and bottled in New York State at 61% ABV with no sugar, color, or flavoring. Sixteen tropical years is a serious span — the equivalent of more than thirty in Scotland — and Belizean rum, usually met only in Copalli or the sweetened Travellers One Barrel, has never been seen like this.
