JCB Spirits Gin
JCB Spirits Gin comes from Jean-Charles Boisset, the French-born vintner behind two dozen wineries in France and California including Buena Vista and DeLoach. Instead of grain, this gin is distilled in Burgundy from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wine, then infused with juniper, a touch of rose, coriander and extracts of 11 spices plus biodynamic herbs such as chamomile, honeysuckle, dandelion, calendula, lemon balm and yarrow. It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof).
Robb Report described the botanical bill as drawing on 44 plants with juniper kept subtle behind cardamom, cinnamon, coriander and chamomile, in a dry London-inspired style. The wine base gives it a soft, round texture that sets it apart from grain gins, and the ornate decanter-style bottle makes it a natural gift. Serve it in a Martini with a lemon twist or a French 75 to let the grape and floral notes show.
