Jura Seven Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Jura Seven Wood is the most cask-complex whisky from the Isle of Jura, a wild Hebridean island of around two hundred people, one road, one pub and one distillery, founded in 1810 and rebuilt in 1963 to keep the island community alive. It is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then married with whisky from six different French oak casks, from Limousin, Tronçais, Allier, Vosges, Jupilles and Les Bertranges, hence the name.
Bottled at 84 proof, it pours mahogany gold and offers an aromatic fusion of coffee, ginger spice and a hint of milk chocolate on the nose, then a palate of caramelized peach, chewy licorice and candied orange with a hint of sea spray and smoke, finishing warm and spiced. A distinctive, oak-driven Island malt for drinkers who enjoy spice and structure, and a talking point on any whisky shelf.
