Kretaraki Meli Honey Liqueur is a 750ml Cretan honey liqueur from the Stamataki Brothers Distillery in Heraklion, Crete. It is what islanders lovingly call rakomelo: the grape-based spirit tsikoudia combined with distilled water, local honey, a blend of Cretan spices and a touch of caramel.
Warm, sweet and gently spiced with cinnamon and clove over a honeyed base, it is the traditional Cretan winter warmer. Serve it warm in a small glass on a cold night, chilled or over ice in summer, or use it to sweeten a hot toddy or a whisky sour.
