This is the first rum Long Pond ever sold under its own name — a distillery founded in 1753 in Trelawny Parish, Jamaica, whose rum spent nearly three centuries going into other people's blends and independent bottlings before National Rums of Jamaica finally released a house bottle in 2021. Long Pond is Hampden's neighbor and its equal in the funk tradition: pot-still rum across the full ester spectrum, from the light LRM marque through Wedderburn and STCE up to the TECA and TECC marques that hit the legal ceiling. ITP is one of the lighter marks — 90 to 120 grams of esters per hectoliter — distilled on the estate's John Dore double-retort pot still in 2006, aged fifteen years in ex-bourbon American oak, and bottled at 45.7% ABV in a limited run of 2,402 bottles with no sugar, color, or additives.
