Wishniak, from the Slavic word for sour cherry, is the traditional Eastern European cherry cordial, and Maraska makes it from ripe Dalmatian sour cherries.
Deep ruby in color, it is rich and fruity with dark cherry, a hint of almond and a sweet-tart finish. Serve it chilled or over ice, add a splash to sparkling wine, or use it in a cherry Manhattan or Blood and Sand.
