Ming River Baijiu is a 750ml, 45% ABV Sichuan baijiu, China's national spirit, produced at Luzhou Laojiao, the oldest continuously operating baijiu distillery in the world, with fermentation pits dating to 1573. It is a strong-aroma style baijiu made from sorghum fermented in earthen pits and distilled in traditional Chinese pot stills.
The aroma begins with green apple peel and gives way to tropical papaya, guava and melon rounded by a hint of ripe cheese. The flavor is spicy pink peppercorn with pineapple, anise and a bright, briny middle, finishing long, mellow and slightly earthy. Sip it neat with a meal, or use it in a highball or sour.
