Stranahan's Sherry Cask is a permanent expression from Stranahan's, the Denver distillery that pioneered American single malt in 2004. It begins with Stranahan's Original, made from 100% malted barley grown in Colorado and aged at least four years in new charred American oak, then finishes the whiskey in Oloroso sherry casks from Andalusia, Spain. It is bottled at 47% ABV in the distillery's signature 750ml bottle with the metal cap.
The sherry finish layers dried fruit, raisin and fig, toasted almond and dark chocolate over Stranahan's core of honeyed malt, vanilla and caramel, with a rich, rounded texture and a long, warm finish with a touch of spice.
