Svol Swedish-Style Aquavit is a 750ml, 40% ABV aquavit made at New York Distilling Co. in Brooklyn in partnership with experts in Scandinavian food and drink. The botanicals were selected by chef Gunnar Gíslason of Michelin-starred Dill in Reykjavik and Jonas Andersen of Meyers USA, with distillation developed alongside Allen Katz.
Swedish aquavits lean on slightly sweeter botanicals like dill and fennel alongside caraway: here fresh dill is cold-infused before the other botanicals are added, and fennel is cracked and roasted to release its aroma. The result is a bright, fresh profile perfect for refreshing cocktails, a Bloody Mary or a chilled shot with smoked fish.
