Thirteen tropical years on Martinique cane is a long time — the angels take most of the barrel — and a single cask shows the estate's spirit with nothing smoothed over: expect a nose of dried fig, toasted oak, tobacco, walnut, and a faint rancio over the cane's grassy, mineral thread, opening into a dense, layered palate of caramel, dark spice, dried fruit, and cocoa with the proof carrying real weight, finishing very long and dry — opening beautifully with water.
