Expresiones del Corazón is the annual collaboration between Corazón and its owner Sazerac: Corazón's single-estate Los Altos tequila, slow-cooked in stone ovens and distilled at Casa San Matías, NOM 1103, under master distiller Rocío Rodríguez, filled into freshly emptied Sazerac barrels and stored in the first row of the Acatic aging house for airflow, checked every two months, and bottled at 40% ABV in limited quantities. The 2024 Weller 12 Añejo is the longest-aged of the year's set — twenty-six months in barrels that held Weller 12 for a dozen years before that — and the house describes a balanced sweetness with rich cooked agave, toasted vanilla, and a smooth yet bold oak finish. Wheated bourbon barrels give a softer, rounder signature than rye-recipe casks: expect vanilla, honey, caramel, and a soft wheat-bread sweetness over cooked agave, with more oak depth than the seventeen-month Expresiones and a long, gentle finish.
