Wolfburn 10 Year Old is the first age-stated release from the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, built in 2013 in Thurso on the site of an original Wolfburn distillery from 1821. Handmade by a tiny team, it marks a milestone: a full decade of maturation from a distillery that was pouring its first spirit only a few years earlier. Bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle.
Pouring rich gold, it offers gentle peat smoke, ripe fruit and honeyed sweetness on the nose with subtle oak and delicate spice, then a velvety, smooth palate of vanilla, toffee, warm oak, dried fruit and malted barley with a gentle spice, finishing long with toffee, oak, dark chocolate and malt.
