Fercullen Falls The Powerscourt Single Malt Irish Whiskey is named for Powerscourt Waterfall, Ireland's highest, which tumbles through the estate where Powerscourt Distillery sits in County Wicklow. Made from malted barley and Wicklow Mountains spring water under master distiller Noel Sweeney, it is aged in selected oak casks and bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof).
It is a smooth, easy-going single malt: honeyed malt, ripe orchard fruit and a hint of spice on the nose, a velvety palate with vanilla and gentle oak, and a lingering, clean finish. It drinks well neat, with a drop of water, or in a highball where its fruit shows through.
