Nonino L'Aperitivo Botanical Drink is the aperitivo from the Nonino family of Friuli, the grappa distillers behind Amaro Nonino Quintessentia. Created for the Italian ritual of the pre-dinner drink, it is made with a base of Nonino's own grappa infused with botanicals including gentian root, rhubarb, artichoke, and bitter orange, for a bright, natural bitterness with no artificial color.
It is fresh and citrusy with a gentle herbal bitterness and a long, clean finish at 21% ABV, lighter and more elegant than the usual red bitters. The Noninos suggest a spritz with prosecco and soda over ice with an orange slice, and it also makes a refined Negroni or Americano.
