Number Juan Blanco Tequila
Number Juan is the tequila brand founded in 2012 by longtime friends and comedians Ron White and Alex Reymundo, made at NOM 1531 in Jalisco. The production is traditional: 100% blue Weber agave, which the brand lets mature a full seven years in the field before harvest, slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented in stainless steel tanks and double distilled in stainless pot stills. The water comes from natural springs on the Tequila volcano, and master distiller Nestor Rivera oversees the process. The Blanco is the unaged foundation of the range, bottled straight from the still at 40% ABV (80 proof), so what's in the glass is the agave and the distillation with no wood in the way. The brand points to the double distillation as the source of its smoothness, and that clean, cooked-agave profile is exactly what you want in a fresh-lime margarita, a Paloma or a Ranch Water, though it is soft enough to sip chilled on its own. The Reposado and Extra Añejo start from this same spirit.
