Sweet Gwendoline Dry French Gin
Sweet Gwendoline Dry French Gin was created by Larry McGearty, the designer behind Sailor Jerry rum, in collaboration with burlesque star Dita Von Teese, and it is made in the south of France. The gin is infused with Figue de Solliès, a prized fig from Provence, and finished with French white wine, over juniper, cardamom, coriander, angelica, lime and sweet orange. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a pin-up-illustrated bottle.
Drinkhacker rated it a B+ (8.5/10), noting a pleasing viscosity, green herbs with earthy angelica and spicy lemon and lime rind on the nose, then herbal notes, prominent lime, a creamy texture, hints of vanilla and a fruity finish. The producer describes a sweet entry that develops with juniper, pear, green apple and pepper before a round, wine-driven finish with citrus. Serve it with tonic and a slice of fig, in a French 75, or over ice.
