Club Kokomo Spirits is Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love's rum company, launched in March 2024, with the rums blended and bottled at a craft distillery in San Diego under master distiller Geoff Longenecker, the founder of Seven Caves Spirits. The Artisanal White Rum is the foundation of the range: a blend of Demerara cane-sugar rum distilled on site with traditional Jamaican pot-still rum, hand-blended and bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV) with no added sugar, artificial flavoring or additives, and gluten-free. Club Kokomo describes an aroma of honey and pineapple, real fruit and complexity on the palate, and a finish of melon and mango; reviewers pick up a clean distillate nose with light vanilla and marshmallow, a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a pastry-sugar sweetness that turns mineral at the end. The Jamaican pot-still component gives it more character than most white rums at this price, and the 90 proof means it does not vanish behind lime and sugar, which is why the reviewers who rated it an A-minus pointed straight at daiquiris and piña coladas. It is also the base rum that gets steeped with vanilla beans for the Tahitian Vanilla bottling.
