Black Bart Navy Royal Fortune Reserva is a navy-strength rum bottled in Santa Barbara, California, at 111 proof (55.5% ABV), 39% stronger than the majority of rums and comparable to a historical navy rum. It is a blend of 5-year-old Barbados rum and 3-year-old Trinidad rum, made by both column and pot still distillation.
Each rum is aged in American white oak bourbon barrels in the tropical climate of its origin, then sent to Europe to be blended by a company with over 300 years of experience in rum, and finally shipped back across the sea to California for bottling. The result is rich and robust with caramel, dried fruit, oak, and warm spice that stands up to ice and mixers. Sip it neat, or use it in a Navy Grog, a Dark 'n' Stormy, or a rum Old Fashioned. This 750 ml bottle is named for the pirate Bartholomew Roberts' ship.
