Bribon Reposado Tequila
Bribón's Reposado starts from the same foundation as the Blanco: a family making tequila since 1840, at their own distillery in the village of Tequila, Jalisco, opened in 1924. Only fully mature Blue Weber agave — grown seven to ten years, harvested by hand — cooked for a full 18 hours at 100°C to convert starch to sugar, fermented with the house's proprietary yeast, and double distilled using a combination of pot still and column still distillate. From there it rests in oak, softening the Blanco's peppery, herbaceous edge into something rounder and warmer without burying the agave underneath. Wine Enthusiast scored it 90 points. Expect a pale golden pour with cooked agave, vanilla, and light caramel on the nose over the brand's signature floral and earthy undertones, moving into a viscous palate of butterscotch, baking spice, gentle oak, and white pepper, finishing clean, warm, and lightly sweet. The name is Spanish slang for "rascal" — the charismatic troublemaker everyone's glad to see walk in. Priced as an everyday bottle but built with real process behind it, this sits comfortably between sipping neat over a single cube and anchoring a Tequila Old Fashioned, Paloma, or a margarita with more backbone than most.
