Caffo Grappa Italiana is a classic unaged grappa from Gruppo Caffo, the family distillery founded in 1915 in Limbadi, Calabria. It is distilled from carefully selected grape pomace, the skins and seeds left after winemaking, in traditional copper stills, producing a crystal-clear spirit that captures the fresh character of the grape. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is fresh and floral with green apple and delicate herbal notes. The palate is smooth yet vibrant, with white fruit, grape skin and light spice, and the finish is pleasantly dry and clean. Serve it as a digestif, neat or slightly chilled, in the Italian tradition, add a splash to espresso for a caffè corretto, or use it in place of vodka in a grape-forward cocktail. An honest, well-priced everyday grappa.
