Caffo Mezzodì is a lighter, fruitier Italian aperitivo from Gruppo Caffo, made at the Distilleria Friulia in Udine. Mezzodì means "midday," and this aperitivo is built for the afternoon: sweet citrus, herbs and spices with a natural cochineal color, gently sweet with a subtle bitterness that is far softer than Caffo's Red Bitter. Bottled at 15% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is sweet orange, cacao and gentian. The palate brings orange, white tea, red berries, honeysuckle and a touch of cinchona, finishing light and refreshing. It is the perfect base for a spritz with prosecco and soda, works beautifully in modern classics like the Naked & Famous, and makes a lighter, more approachable alternative to your usual red bitter in an Americano or a low-proof Negroni.
