Its natural red color comes from cochineal rather than dye, and its flavor from sweet oranges and bitter Calabrian chinotto oranges hand-picked on the Caffo family's own properties, infused with a selection of herbs and spices led by juniper, rhubarb and gentian. The nose is chinotto orange and dusty gentian. The palate continues with orange and gentian, joined by cinchona, citrusy juniper and a touch of rosemary, finishing long and pleasantly bitter.
