Caffo Liquirizia The Original Liquorice Liqueur
Caffo Liquirizia is the original Calabrian licorice liqueur from Gruppo Caffo, the family distillery founded in 1915 in Limbadi. Calabria grows the finest licorice root in the world, prized since the 18th century, and Caffo makes this liqueur from pure Calabrian licorice extract with spirit, sugar and a hint of herbs, producing a deep, dark brown liqueur with a velvety texture. Bottled at 27% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The aroma is sweet, aromatic licorice with hints of anise and herbs. The palate is a wave of silky, sweet licorice, deeply comforting and sophisticated, with subtle anise and herbal undertones and a lingering, warm finish. Serve it ice-cold from the freezer as a digestivo, pour it over vanilla ice cream, add it to coffee, or use it in a Black Manhattan-style cocktail. A must for licorice lovers and a true taste of Calabria.
